During the harvest of soybeans, the women in Zambia are very busy. After the chores in the morning, they go to the school’s open field to thresh. One strike after another, they beat on the crop with heavy bamboo rods. They neglect the blazing sun and continue to work till they are sweating all over. When the sun is setting, they go home together as a group because it is hard to find one’s way after it gets dark.
